Viviana Milan (1976), was born in Novara, and now lives and works in Genoa.
She studied Design and Art at the IUAV University of Venice. Her work addresses the question of time and its visibility and multiplicity in relation to contemporary rituals, signalling the possibility of a mapping that constantly involves going on a journey through different forms across both writing and reading.
Her poetics are articulated through a dialogue between stage design, performative acts and direction – the natural development of theatrical time understood as expression that is vital yet ephemeral.
The imagery she prefers hovers between essentiality and narration and is in constant dialogue with a deep interest in anthropology. Open and responsive to all forms of experimentation, her research is expressed primarily through video.
